iFi is renowned for putting as much technology as it can into as small a space as possible, and as affordably as possible. The Valkyrie is not exactly inexpensive, true - but the amount of technology built inside allows the listener to get the performance they want, and that’s what led us to giving it this award. The highlights are the excellent detail and timing of the sound, of course - and there are lots of sockets to plug in balanced or unbalanced headphones, plus plenty of power for those inefficient planars.
