Since humble beginnings back in 1973 Rega’s initial success was built upon award-winning tonearms and turntables however, the company has been hand crafting desirable hi-fi systems since the eighties

Rega designs and assembles every product across seven custom-made facilities located in the Southeast of England. Every product is meticulously hand assembled by a team of highly skilled production staff. Today, Rega works with 650 parts suppliers with 90% of them based in the UK and Rega products are exported globally to more than 50 different countries.
Rega is recognised globally for producing high performance, affordable, two channel hi-fi, which lasts a lifetime. Rega never bows to industry pressure and actively work on being different from other companies. Focusing on this niche marketplace is the cornerstone of our company culture.
The 28 October 2024 was a significant day in Rega history that will ensure the company continues long into the future and their strategy will remain unchanged.
On this day, founder Roy Gandy gifted 100% of his shares of the company to a Trust to protect Rega long into the future. This incredible gesture, of which Roy Gandy receives zero financial gain, has allowed Rega to become an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). Becoming an EOT has many advantages, however, the main reason is to protect their culture and decades of hard work.
As far as the customer is concerned, there is no change; the Trust now owns Rega on behalf of all employees and provides the same high level of customer service that it always has done.
The Trust does not take over the running of the company, although it will be involved in key decisions. All Rega employees become beneficiaries.
Roy remains the sole Director and will continue to work in R&D and sales, the two areas he enjoys the most.
Simply put, these big changes ensure nothing will change and Rega can continue designing and manufacturing world beating, affordable hi-fi products by hand, here in the UK, safe in the knowledge Rega is protected for years to come.
Rega Mercury/ Solis "If you are shopping at this stratified price point, the Mercury and Solis offer all the magic that well-engineered high-end gear should with a forgiveness and tractability that few rivals possess. If you want the amp you’ll use every day for the rest of your life, it’s made from these two units."
Rega Brio Mk7 "If you have selected one of the many fine turntables currently hitting the market at under a grand, this is about as good as it gets in terms of partnering equipment. Not only that, as well as excelling with vinyl, the Rega’s breadth of all-round talent will keep you listening via its other inputs too."
Rega Planar 3RS "If you have the extra money over the £600 Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2, the Planar 3 RS looks andfeels more special - and offers higher performance too. This is the best £1000 turntable on the market, and sensational value for money. "
Rega Naia "If you have an extensive vinyl collection, the Naia is the device that can unlock it without fear or favour while being compact, easy to use and a pleasure to live with."
Rega Aya-Elex-Planar stereo system "If you want a clever, flexible and well made system that genuinely delivers on the promise of synergy between the bits, there’s very little out there that will keep this one honest."
Rega Planar 8 "The Planar 8 is a device that allows you to get the very best out of your records while still having a turntable that is no harder to use or live with than Rega’s more affordable models. It is an outstanding all-rounder. "
